Responsible AI for Student Engagement

An AI-powered teaching assistant platform designed to help professors streamline administrative tasks—so they can focus on what matters most: teaching and inspiring students.

About Us

Born from firsthand experience as a student, grader, and researcher, RAISE is our response to the overwhelming amount of administrative work placed on educators today.

RAISE stands for Responsible AI for Student Engagement. We're building an AI-powered teaching assistant platform designed to help professors and educators streamline their most time-consuming tasks—so they can focus on what really matters: teaching and inspiring students.

We believe AI can do more than automate—it can enhance learning experiences and humanize education at scale.

The Problem

Professors are under intense pressure with administrative tasks that take away from meaningful teaching time.

Overwhelming Admin Work

Professors are expected to grade hundreds of assignments, answer repetitive student questions, and track student performance across huge classes.

Time Constraints

All this administrative burden adds up to less time for meaningful teaching and one-on-one student interactions.

Student Engagement Challenges

Large class sizes make it difficult to identify struggling students and address individual learning needs effectively.

Our Solution

RAISE is a centralized AI platform that acts as a 24/7 teaching assistant, handling repetitive tasks and providing valuable insights.

AI Quiz & Assignment Generator

Generate Bloom's Taxonomy-based questions from lecture slides, textbooks, or syllabi, saving hours of preparation time.

Auto-Grader with Feedback

Automatically grade code, short answers, or essays with structured AI-generated feedback that helps students learn from their mistakes.

Course-Specific Chatbot (AI Office Hours)

Trained on course content, it answers repetitive student queries anytime—"What's due this week?", "Explain Merge Sort," etc.

Real-Time Student Engagement Dashboard

Shows who's struggling, where learning gaps exist, and suggests interventions to improve student outcomes.

Adaptive Content Engine (Coming Soon)

Simplifies difficult topics, creates summaries, and recommends additional resources based on individual learning levels.

Pitch for Advisors

Five core functions that resonate with startup CFOs, SaaS investors, and mentors—especially if they’re eyeing product clarity and market fit.

I’m Deepak — a CS grad student at NC State and founder of RAISE AI Labs. I’m building a responsible AI platform that helps professors not just teach better—but understand and engage students like never before. We’re tackling a growing problem: large-scale university classes are impersonal, time-constrained, and full of missed learning signals.

1. AI-Assisted Student Engagement

Real-time, interactive quizzes generated from lecture slides as professors teach. AI agents analyze scores and flag disengaged students, recommending 1:1 meetings or office hours automatically.

2. AI-Powered Student Work Review

Coding, math, or written assignments get graded faster with AI. We combine plagiarism detection (Turnitin + MOSS) with LLM-generated feedback. Professors always have the final override.

3. AI Content Generation for Professors

Instantly create assignments, slides, or mini-projects using only a topic or learning goal. Think “Notion AI for academics,” but deeply attuned to each prof’s syllabus and teaching style.

4. Custom AI Teaching Assistants (AI TAs)

Professors train their own course-specific chatbots to re-explain lectures, guide students, and answer questions at any hour—bridging knowledge gaps between classes.

5. Knowledge Discovery + Weekly Student Updates

RAISE curates relevant research, tools, and discoveries based on class topics. Students get weekly digests, tying what they learn to the real world of their field.

My Stage: I’ve defined the vision, built the brand, secured the domain, started MVP development, and I’m engaging NC State professors for pilot programs. Now, I’m looking for guidance on refining the business model, fundraising strategy, and scaling plan.

Our Vision

We're building a future where AI empowers—not replaces—humans in the learning process.

Preventing Educator Burnout

We envision a future where educators don't burn out on administrative work but can focus on their passion for teaching.

Personalized Learning

Students feel like the course was designed just for them, not like they're one of 500 in a lecture hall.

Empowering Human Connection

AI works alongside educators to enhance learning without replacing the human touch.
